Traces of an inscription on the back pillar, the statue would have been a temple dedication. The use of such a large piece of so rare and valuable a material indicates the gentleman was of some importance.

 

Early Late Period, Dynasty XXVI, ca. 664–525 BC

No repair or restoration, 15 x 10 x 8.5 cm (5 7/8 x 4 x 3 3/8")
